WWE RAW Reaction - The Viper Strikes The Beast
Check out my great, good, bad, and pathetic from last night's RAW.
Great
- I loved the ending of the show wit the return f Brock and Paul Heyman. Given everything that has happened with Brock's failed drug test, his popularity remains so positive. Which further shows how fans really don't care about that shit when it comes to guys they like. Orton appearing on RAW was a good twist to end the show and add fuel to their upcoming Summerslam match. Those complaining about the roster split being violated already are just stupid. They were booked in inter-brand match long before, so they have to build it up. No problem with me.
- The build to Rollins vs Balor was good this week. I liked the Rollins vs Zayn match a lot and am really looking forward two the the title match at Summerslam.
- Lana looked stunning tonight. She always looks great, but tonight, got damn!!! Rusev, you better hold her tight and keep your eyes peeled.
- I liked the tough guy match between Cesaro and Sheamus and the post match brawl was good too. I really want Cesaro to be elevated higher.
- KO on commentary, GOLD.
Good
- While I would much rather Cesaro get this spot against Rusev, The whole set up for Reigns to challenge Rusev was pretty good. I liked Rusev destroying Mark Henry and then Reigns coming down to a nice pop as the conquering hero. That's a good match for Summerslam and the crowd actually got behind Reigns a bit. It mat be good for him to be out of the main event for a while so that it feels like he's not being over-pushed.
- The opening segment started off good with Sasha Banks getting a promo to begin the show which was refreshing. But there was a lot that happened that was just random and out of place. Like the pairing of Enzo and Sasha and Charlotte and Jericho. And they talked too long. But it was some good stuff in there and the match was solid.
- While I don't care for the match, and didn't think the Club should be losing at all right now, the post match beat down they laid on The New Day made up for it. Poor Big E. Every man feels his pain today.
- I liked this week's quick squash matches featuring Nia Jax and Braun Strauman. Good stuff.
Bad
- What the hell was the bull crap with the Prime Time Players abruptly feuding. It seems so random and the match sucked. This is one of the major issues with a three hour show, we get shit like this that should be on Superstars. Hopefully the Cruiser-weights get these slots in a few weeks.
- I'm not a fan of Heath Slater or Jinder Mahal, so clearly I didn't like that segment either. What a waste of time on some jobbers.
Pathetic
- This Pokemon Go crap has got to stop. I get it, its popular right now, but this doesn't make anyone who is a fan look good at all. Save that stuff for online only skits.
I am looking forward to Balor vs Rollins at Summerslam. Of course the prestige of the Universal title, means little at this point, but clearly, RAW is the A show, and being the champion for that brand does carry some weight. Especially since Dolph Ziggler could be champion on Smackdown... smh. Anyway, the match should be fantastic, and I hope the build does it justice.
