Run It Back: The Weekly DVR Review - #2
Each and every week here at Causioncreations, I "Run back" over my DVR and give my thoughts on all the shows I watched over the course of the week. I start on Monday and run until Sunday. Some weeks I may skip a show, so the next week I will cover any episode I may have missed the previous week. So let's get to it.
Monday July 25th - Sunday July 31st
Monday
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta - The season finale was interesting in some respects as we saw what was presented as the end of the Stevie and Joseline relationship. I mean, I will believe it when I see it. Stevie can't leave that girl. But it was very interesting to see him with Deelishis. My baby. I'm intrigued. Reunion should be explosive next week.
The Making of the Mob: Chicago - Last week Al Capone took control of Chicago and had O'Banion executed. I love how this show tells the story and illustrates everything to a tee. With Torrio out, now we will see crazy Al for real. When he called press conference and was talking to the press after he had all those Irish killed, it showed just how insane this dude was. Great series.
Are You the One? - This show really i a the ultimate social experiment because the cast has the incentive of money to mix and mingle with the rest of the singles in the cast. Which leads to instant drama, sexual tensions, and great entertainment to behold. My guilty pleasure.
Tuesday
Feed the Beast - Man, Tommy is really going crazy over the thought that TJ may not really be his son. When he collected the DNA from TJ while he slept so he could get him tested, it really showed how much this shit is driving him over the edge. Dione is messing with Fire on so many levels, especially since we see that the Tooth Fairy is in love with him. Craziest scene was when Marisa's father Guy was hung and killed by the Tooth Fairy. Damn!!!
Tyrant - If this isn't the best show of the Summer and one of the best shows on TV, period, I don't know what is. Poor Barry. He was trying to catch the perpetrators who killed his daughter, and in doing so they accidentally blew up a building full of kids. And now he's being viewed a murderer of his own people. But not really. Because they view Barry as an American. So this is about to cause some type of of War. I hope yall watching.
Dating Naked - David clearly does not want anyone else with Natalie as this week he cut the person he was getting the closest to yet again. Natalie did the same last week. This tells me that these two are far more into each other that we realize, and they are simply clearing the field so they can be together in the end.
Wednesday
Greenleaf - All I'm going say about this episode is, Grace, Grace Grace. You knew you was going break up that happy home. Smh. She was mighty busy this week. Not only did she discover that Mac has been bribing his victims with scholarships and grants from Lady Mae's women's auxiliary fund. But then she gets Noah's help on how to handle it. And well, that turned into a all night session. Let's just say Noah was on his knees and he wasn't praying.
Thursday
Big Brother - Frank got the boot on last Thursday's show and we learned that each contestant has a chance to come right back into the house if voted out.
Braxton Family Values - Trina Braxton is an idiot. That is all.
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll - Have not watched yet
Friday
Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars - Tera Reed is a flaming alcoholic and its very clear that this woman really needs some professional help. Last week's drill was really a good one, as the couples were forced to look at the things about themselves that they hate and try to understand how their issues can affect their mate and how they interact. Good stuff.
Sunday
Ray Donovan - Poor Bunchy. What the hell happened to Theresa. She turned into a completely different persona and wants nothing to do with the baby. But it looks like Terry is finding happiness and purpose in training inside the ring again. I give Mickey credit, for once in his sorry life he's actually doing something for someone other than himself. By him taking the wrap, Belikov is released and Ray is out from under the Armenian's thumb, well so he thinks. Ray is a train wreck afterwards. A drunk train wreck. One if the greatest scenes ever is when he killed Belikov. Great episode.
Return to Amish - I really dislike Rebecca so much. She is the absolute worst and complete hypocrite. I like Mary's youngest daughter and I hope she whips Rebecca's ass, every soon. I'm sure Sabrina and Kate would help with the bank.
The Last Ship - The final scene of last week's episode where we see that the President hung himself was absolutely nuts!! I like this season because the mission is more tangible. The Asians got a bad batch of the virus and saw it as an act of War. But clearly it was a set up by an enemy who could profit from the two sides fighting. With the new President in office, it will be interesting to see how the power dynamic shifts. One thing is for certain, and that's Captain Chandler is the the real leader of the country.
Ballers - T Sizzle has been an excellent addition. The guy is a Ravens so of course I'm rooting for him, but he's really good actor. Rock is great. the story of him fighting pain and needing medication to live is a really good story that continues to keep the realness of the series, even though its presented in many ways a s a comedy.
Naked and Afraid: XL - I'm not sure if its better for so many people t try to survive together, or smaller groups are more ideal. Large groups could keep each other safer, no doubt, but splitting resources can be problem. You catch one fish, and have to split it up with so many other mouths? I don't know. And there are too many chefs in the kitchen. Hope they start catching some real meat to eat, cause some of these girls not going last. Shorty drank the shit water. Smh.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians - This was a great episode that centered on them going to Cuba. Seeing as though we just recently were allowed access to the Country, it was great to see the land and the culture as they traveled. I really thought this was a good one. Plus we see that Lamar is getting back into his old habits the minute Khloe is gone. Smh.
Survivor's Remorse - I still don't think they should have killed Uncle Julius, as he was a mega part of what made the show funny and great. But they have done a good job paying homage to him and moving the show along. The star of Sunday's episode was clearly MChuck. Yo her therapy scene where she went into the full Boston accent was amazingly great!!
Power - So Canine is alive like we thought, but at least he's not miraculously healed yet. The addition of his cousin in DC, who is a straight Gangsta dirty cop, was very refreshing. The show needed a new character with some depth and purpose and we got one. Also, Angela has to die. Its inevitable.
