Week in Sports - Friday, February 3, 2017
This Sunday the NFL season culminates with it biggest game of the year, Super Bowl 51, live from Houston, Texas. The Super Bowl has become a National tradition and is the highest rated and most viewed TV program every year. Families and friends across the country, gather together to watch the big game every season, no matter who the two teams are. But this year is a great one!!
Super Bowl 51 Prediction
The New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons is a classic matchup we rarely get to see in the championship game. You have the Classic, legendary Tom Brady, leading a team of no names into battle against the younger underachieving Matt Ryan and his high powered offense. The Falcons offense vs the Patriots defense is the key matchup here, and it will be the difference in the game.
I previewed the game in last week's update, so I won't repeat what is already known. The real key to this game is whether the Falcons defense be able to stop Tom Brady, or will he pick them apart like he did the Steelers in the AFC title game. In the end, I believe the Falcons offense is so dynamic and versatile, that they will be able to score points on the Patriot defense and they will do enough to win the championship.
I just think that the combination of the receiving core lead by Julio Jones, combined with the two headed attack at running back, and the precision Matt Ryan is playing with will be enough to bring the Lombardy to Atlanta. Enjoy.

Lebron Fires back at Barkley HARD!!!
WOW, what the hell is going on with Lebron James? Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it, but damn it came out of nowhere. Last week Lebron went of about the team being too top heavy and needing to add some depth. He basically called out management. So many said Lebron was whining and had some nerve when his team has the highest payroll in the league. And none was more critical or has more of a platform to criticize than Charles Barkley. And like Chuck does, he went on one of his tangents and called Lebron a whiner and basically soft.
Well, Lebron was asked about it by an ESPN reporter, and he went in on Charles. I mean roasted him. LOL!!! Not only did he talk about Charles' issues career wise, but he went personal and named all the incidents Charles was involved in during his career off the court as well. I mean it was well researched and he meant this shit. Lebron clearly has been feeling this way for awhile.

And I think I know why he finally decided to say something. Charles, and others like him, have routinely joked and joined in on the narrative that Lebron is soft or weak. Just look at how many have joined in on the Draymond Green narrative, harking back to last years Finals when Draymond called Lebron a bitch and hit him low. And then a few weeks ago tackled Lebron to the ground. Charles said that Draymond should have hit Lebron in the balls, which I'm sure bothers Lebron. Especially since Lebron has always carried himself as a true professional and role model for kids watching the game.
The problem is, Charles is the lead and highest paid analyst for the #1 NBA show, Inside the NBA on TNT. So what he says often shapes the views of the those watching and the conversation. So of course if he openly minimizes or constantly takes jabs at Lebron, its going to slant the opinion. And Lebron finally said enough is enough. I loved it and its all valid.

Now don't get me wrong, i am a huge Chuck fan, and watch Inside the NBA every Thursday night. I would never want the guys replaced. But there is no denying that Chuck goes at current players very hard quite often and holds them to a standard that he never lived up to. He cracks jokes and says whatever he wants and people just accept it because he's Charles Barkley.
But like I have said, Charles is one man and has one opinion. The same way he goes at these players, they have every right to come back hard and fry his ass. Look at how Demarcus Cousins has treated him. Charles was extra critical questioning his heart and Boogie wanted to whip his ass and meant it. And still don't talk to Charles. And that was perfectly within his right. Same with Lebron. Charles never won anything, he's not the greatest to play at his position or for the era, he was a very good player, not a superstar. So player don't owe him shit. Even Jordan disowned him. Lol. I applaud Lebron for firing back.
