WWE RAW Reaction - Ambrose Era
I really enjoyed this edition of RAW and really had nothing bad to say about it.
Check out my great, good, bad, and pathetic from last night's show.
Check out my great, good, bad, and pathetic from last night's show.
Great
- I got to lead off with the return of my baby, Sasha Banks. For months we have been without the Boss and although the plan all along was to bring her back for a title program with Charlotte this Summer. But I think its been criminal to keep her off TV for no apparent reason.
- Dean Ambrose was hilarious to me last night. You could tell he was legit elated to be the champion and carry the title. From arriving in cab, to his main event commentary, he was great.
- Rollins isn't all the way back yet, but I liked the main event. Reigns is so hated by the fans and he clearly isn't the guy. But for the fans to say he can't wrestle is unfair. He has vastly improved and they worked hard.
- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens feud heated back up with a good match but an excellent post match brawl. I loved it!!!
- AJ Styles and the Bullet Club are a great group and AJ and Cena's work on the mic was excellent. They both had some very clever lines that really ramped up the feud even more. And the beat down was great too.
- I really liked Becky Lynch's promo about being attacked by Natty at Money In the Bank. I really think they have something in her if they use it.
Good
- The Wyatts returned and got a huge reaction. Then they were cut off by the New Day, who came out and ran down the Wyatts. They clearly started some type of trance story line where Xavier Woods was mesmerized or something. It was strange but we will see what happens.
- I really liked Titus O'Neil's fire and physicality when he attacked Rusev for confronting his kids the way he did at Money in the Bank. I wish they would push this Titus character and let him be a bad ass.
- Enzo and Big Cass are getting more and more over by the week.
No Bad and Pathetic
Michael Cole announced the draft on Tuesday, July 19th. Very interesting that they decided to have the draft on Smackdown and not RAW. But it also speaks to how important it is for them to elevate Smackdown to the level of RAW. And yes, for those wondering, we will be doing a weekly Smackdown reaction article, when Smackdown goes live in July.
Shane McMahon announced a triple-threat match between the three former members of the Shield, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, as the main event for Battleground. I think this match could have been held off and built to for a bigger stage down the road. But clearly these three men will be split up when the draft takes place, and the company wanted to make sure they book the match people want to see. It should be good and I will be there live in DC.
