Week in TV Run It Back
DVR Review - 2/3/17
Best Thing I Watched Last Week
Most certainly the best thing I watched over the last week was the biopic from BET, "The New Edition Story". The bar has been set WAY high for any biopic that tries to follow this, good luck. The three night event had everything you want from a biopic, great casting, great storytelling, great performances, relatability, and new revelations. I felt like they transplanted us back to my youth when rumors were swirling but we really couldn't confirm everything that was happening behind the scenes. The actors looked, talked, and sang like the originals, and it was so enjoyable to watch. I loved this movie!!! I am not deleting it from my DVR and will probably watch it again. Best part is, it was all true!!! Not since the Temptations and Jackson V biopics from VH1 have we seen a great adation like this. The bar has been set for whoever tries to follow.
Thursday 1/26/17 - Wednesday 2/1/17
Thursday
Grey's Anatomy on ABC
Very good episode that really was refeshing due to the change of location and focus one strong storyline. The prison setting has become more popular since the emergence of Orange is the new blackn but the angle they took here was excellent. A girl being forced to give up a child she gave birth to in prison, to her mother, who wants nothing to do with her. The execution of the story was so well done and i applaud all involved. Great return |
Scandal on ABC
Finally!! After the longest hiatus in modern history it felt like, Scandal returned with a barn burner!! This dude Cyrus is Satan himself. If its truly true that he orchestrated the assassination of the newly crowned President-elect Vargas, so he could be President, he's truly Satan. Olivia will get to the bottom of it. No doubt. |
How to Get Away With Murder on ABC
I just still don't like nor understand the decision to kill Wes. Its just mind blogging why a popular series would kill one of its most important characters so early on. Why couldn't they kill Conor. I hate that dude and applauded when Asher beat the hell out if him. I have no clue who killed Wes, none. Its not Annalise, clearly, but i really have no idea who. Should be a good season. |
Sunday
The Affair on HBO
This may have been the season finale, but for me it wa sthe series finale. I'm done with this show. This season sucked terribly. I mean, what the hell? Its like they just couldn't stick with the story that made people love the show. Who gives a damn about this chick from Paris?!? It was so out of left field and pointless. I don't care about that! Then the story was so far fetched and out of place for the different perspectives. What was the damn point? Its dead to me. What a waste. |
Homeland on Showtime
I must first say, Carrie should have never shown Quin that damn video. This guy will be forever haunted by the site of seeing himself choking to death like that, and I think he's going to go off the deep end. Speaking of Carrie, she's just as selfish as ever. It worked out in the end due to that recording, but she almost ruined that young man's life. Very interesting that the President-Elect's convo with Carrie was being tapped. I wonder what's happening. Very intriguing so far. |
The Young Pope on HBO
This dude is always two steps ahead and is never outsmarted. This week, he thwarted the advancements of the young lady who was blackmailed in to trying to seduce him, and he turned it around on the Priest. Then he caused them all to bow and kiss his feet. Next he met with the young, smart Prime Minister, who had no respect for him, and in the end made the guy realize that he had the power to not only insure he loses the next election, but make voting a sin. Smh. |
Monday
SuperGirl on CW
Kara found out that Jimmy and Quinn have been playing super hero and she ain't wit it. I get it, she's scared they going get themselves killed cause they have no superpowers. Jon Jones is too nice. I woulda let that White Martian die cause all types of hell is on the way to earth because of her. And Mon-El and Kara are clearly building to hooking up and we all know that this will end badly, for sure. |
Love and Hip Hop NY on VH1
Yo my man Self is the best. Lol. Yo tagged Cisco car then laughed at him. I loved it!!!! I wish he woulda really done it and then made that idiot look silly. The females went on a trip to Mexico and it was filled with a bunch of bullshit and drama that I have no desire to recap. I feel terrible for Remy, sad stuff man. Losing a child is terrible, but for everything to play out on TV is something I could never allow. |
Tuesday
Flash on CW
I liked this episode as it was a good way to show the progression of Kd Flash, who is really coming into his own, as well as Cisco as Vibe. I'm back to liking Cisco again after he was pissing me off with the Barry hate before. It will be interesting to see how they will increase Barry's speed in time to be able to stop Iris from being killed. This timeline tampering never ends well on this show, so I don't have high hopes. The best part of the Cisco/Gypsy battle was their breaching through a series of Earths, including Supergirl’s. And I'm glad that HR is around for the comic relief. |
DC's Legends of Tomorrow on CW
So Rip Hunter tried to kill George Washington? Lol. I liked this weeks episode as it gave us a closer look into the Legion of Doom and their intentions. We also found out the reason for their alliance, which was to change the past so that none of them will face the eventual fate they all know is coming, death. I loved that they humanized Thawne, and showed that he's not invincible. When you know more about a villain and he emphasized more, the battle between the two sides feels a lot more important. I'm excited for the rest of the season. |
Wednesday
Black Ink Crew on VH1
You know, Sky really is a fake tough girl. Its funny at times, like when she fought Rasheeda Ali last year, but this thing with the new girl Tiffany was some straight bully tactics. And you could see it was all over jealousy. When Ted hired her, Sky instantly got jealous because she still is in love with Teddy and he don't want her. So she just hated on this girl to no end. The same reason Duchess didn't want Cease to hire her a few years ago, jealousy. terrible man. And it snowballed into a big mess. Sky was pathetic and ruined the episode. |
Are You the One? on MTV
I liked this week's episode because people are really starting to play the game with the goal of winning in mind. Last week they got four lights and this week they go four lights again. But the matchups were mixed up. That's very valuable because it provides them with more information they can use to build from. My man Eddie got the two baddest chicks in the house, and he could have either. Lucky mofo. I still think this process does more harm than good in the end because it stunts any real connections developed in the house. |
