WWE RAW Reaction -
Battleground Main Event Still On
Check out my great, good, bad, and pathetic from last night's RAW.
Great
- The show was built around the idea that both John Cena and AJ Styles both wanted to be added to the WWE title match at Battle ground. To get there, Cena had to defeat Seth Rollins and AJ had to defeat AJ. I liked the way it was set up and executed.
- Both matches were very good TV matches, and especially Cena vs Seth had a lot of crowd heat. I get the feeling that both of matches were either teases of matches we may see coming up or may not see due to the brand split.
Good
- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens built up their upcoming Battleground match with a very good talking segment on the Highlight Reel. Zayn in particular showed a lot of intensity and fire on the mic.
- It was great to see Sasha Banks tap out Dana Brooke and continue her accent to the Women's championship.
- I'm kind of torn of the New Day segment, as the impersonated the Wyatts. Xavier Woods is the best i the group and the best talker, so I feel the segment suffered because the role he's playing in story line. But there was still enough there that I can't call it bad. Its just Kofi does nothing for me on the mic and he talked waaay too much.
Bad
- Why was Kane the best option to face the Miz, when they could have had him face one of the many talented performers who deserve to be highlighted. That IC title is a complete joke again. Too bad man.
- This Titus O'Neal "push" has been bad from the every start. He's just not cut out to be a singles star. Just put him with a good tag team partner and call it a day.
- The Social Outcast should be used for preshow dark matches and backstage comedy. 3 hours of filler is so tiring.
Before Battleground, the Draft will take place and clearly many feuds will be wrapped up by then. Zayn and Owens will feud forever, but clearly they are going their separate ways after the Draft.
I found it every interesting how the handled the Roman Reigns situation. They basically brought up and told us, yea he's still getting the tite match. Its a bad signal in many ways to me. But hell, Vince does what he wants for his favorites.
