Lawler injured and out of UFC 193
Dana White announced on ESPN Sportscenter that the Ronda Rousey/Holly Holm title fight has been moved to the UFC's debut in Melbourne at UFC 193 on November 15, 2015 at Etihad Stadium. The fight was originally scheduled to headline UFC 195 7 weeks later on January 2nd.
The fight was moved because welterweight champion Robbie Lawler had to withdraw from the event’s original headliner against Carlos Condit due to a thumb injury. The other reason: the event is at Etihad Stadium, a 90,000 seat venue that they wanted to come close to filling up. UFC 193 takes place on Nov. 14 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne and is also expected to include a heavyweight rematch between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva. |
