Check out my great, good, bad, pathetic, and complete waste of time
from WWE TV this week.
from WWE TV this week.
GREAT
The ending of Raw was unexpected and perfect, with Braun trying to cash in, and being thwarted by a Shield reunion. The crowd didn't know who to cheer or boo, but they knew we were witnessing a special moment. I like segments like this. What got the Shield over in the first place was the fact that they beat up any and everybody and face or heel didn't matter.
Roman said that when he won the title, he would be there every week, unlike Brock, and he would defend it on TV. This was very well done and it made perfect sense for him to extend the first title defense to Finn Balor. I still think this match was worthy of being built up for PPV, but maybe we will see Finn as the Demon challenge for title down the line. Great action and the crowd was super hot for the main event.
Ambrose made his in ring return and looked good and in very good match against Dolph Ziggler. These two always have had great chemistry, and these four guys, with Seth and McIntyre should continue the feud with a big tag match coming up. Good stuff.
GOOD
HHH returned to build up his upcoming match with the Undertaker in Australia. While I thought it was a bit soon to start focusing on that show, when Hell in a Cell is in just three weeks, I do think it was a good promo to get people excited to see these two legends face each other one more time. Playing off their Mania match was a good touch as well.
BAD
This was long, boring, unneeded, and out of place. You open up a show with a 20 minute snoozefest between Baron Corbin, who we all saw get squashed at Summerslam, and Bobby Lashley? This helped nobody. Lashley should have ran through this bum and been made to look like a killer. He should be being groomed for a title shot and looking impressive until it comes. This made me not ever want to see these two again.
Where do I begin. In many ways and for so many reason I wanted to put this in the pathetic section. The only reason it isn't is because at least the baby face stood tall in the end. But that was its only saving grace. How the hell does a segment like this help the rest of the women's roster? they look like fucking goofs having to stand out there and be background filler for Stephanie and Ronda. Stephanie, again, as always, books herself as the focal point, and the other women, you know, who can actually work, are just fodder who are being dicked with.
Look at the left side of that last picture, as Ronda celebrates having dispatched of Stephanie and all the women are supposed to rejoice. Look at Ember, Sasha and Bayley. All three look miserable. They look like, "Why the fuck are we supposed to celebrate this shit?" I have no clue. While Ronda, Stephanie, and Alexa are being presented as stars, and the Bellas are being brought back to be put in top feuds, what the fuck are they doing to those three?

PATHETIC
Yea, there's your answer. They are losing, YET A-FUCKING-GAIN to the Riot Squad. And of course Sasha takes the pin, because she must lose every match she's in and be booked like utter shit until she quits the fucking company. This is the utter bullshit I am talking about. Ronda, just earlier, says in her speech, that Sasha and Bayley and the matches they had in NXT, is the reason she wanted to come to WWE. How is that supposed to make them feel better? This stupid fucking company has buried these women at every turn, and its crying shame just how tone deaf they are. This is utterly pathetic.
WHY EVEN BOTHER?
GREAT
This was perfect!!!! A month or so ago when they started using that camera angle on the stage for interviews, I said it would be perfect for a sneak attack, and this was the moment! Joe is simply the best. Everything he does is intense and believable. This is the best program on the entre roster to me and this beat down was sensational.
The New Dya have been the hottest team in the company and the fans have been really getting behind them hard again. They are just a likeable act that stays over and should be the champions. It's been long enough. Good job. Hats off to Eric Rowan for performing despite the torn biceps. Sheamus and Cesaro appear to be next.
Miz and Maryse are such a great act and this segment got hot when Bryan ended up interrupting them and calling Miz a coward. Maryse said Bryan should change his name to Daniel Bella which popped me pretty good. Lol. Brie punched the shit out of Miz and it looked stiff too. Lol Great stuff. A mixed tag match between the real-life married couples was booked for Hell in a Cell, which will extend this feud.
GOOD
Finally Jeff Hardy got some of his heat back, after what felt like weeks of getting destroyed and laid out by both Orton and Nakamura. The match was really good when orton was on offense, because he beat the shit out of Hardy. The commercial break screen showed Hardy getting destroyed. But it was good that Hardy laid his ass out and hit a spectacular move for once that made people feel he's still a threat.
They should have never done this match on the SUmmerslam show because it was rushed and completely overshadowed. they did it here and it was so much better. Lana is getting better and hopefully we can move on to something different for Andrade.
BAD
Poor Naomi. Off TV for months, only to return and lose to fucking Peyton Royce. Delightful.
PATHETIC
I know I ranted about this on my Summerslam review, but the "followup" here is worthy of an even greater rant of epic proportions. So these idiots actually thought that the fans would boo Becky Lynch, when everything she and and happened to her, would clearly make her an even bigger babyface. These people are the most tone death bookers I ever recall seeing in my lifetime of watching wrestling. They actively work to not give the people what they want. Its like tehri goal. If you want it, we will do the opposite. They ruined Sasha and Bayley, and now they are finishing the job with Becky and Charlotte. The crowd will now resent Charlotte and feels she's being overpushed again, and reject the forced heel turn of Becky, because it's not even plausible in any way shape or form. Writing that promo for her and thinking anybody with a brain would somehow believe a second of it, and think, Oh yea, we hate her, fucking pathetic, and grounds for each member of the writing team to be fired.
WHY EVEN BOTHER?
Final Thoughts: I hate Vince McMahon.
