What You Should have Watched Last Night:
Wednesday Night 10-14-15
Check out my review of the great shows I watched last night. A great mix with Reality, musical drama, comedy, and procedural drama. Wednesday is just behind Sunday for the best TV night of the week.
Last night's episode of Survivor cemented why I really love Tasha. She came into a situation where her and Savage were clearly on the bottom, and they have risen to the power team. And teh person she wanted gone, Jeff, who was manipulative and would have without a doubt caused trouble, is gone.
It will be interesting to see how long they will keep Abby in the game as she is clearly a loose cannon. They needed her for a vote, but if they lose next week, I would consider cutting her if I were them. She could easily get offended by something stupid and flip on them once a merge happens. I think Woo would be loyal.
Rating: Good

There have not been too many shows that have been able to find new ways to make everyday issues as funny and relatable as Black'ish has been able to do. Last night's episode was yet another perfect example. Father's have been complaining about how they are treated on Father's Day forever on TV shows, but they took it to a new level last night. Daddy Day!!!
It was hilarious. My favorite character on the show is his coworker Charlie. This guy has perfect comedic timing and is funny as hell. When he talked about keeping white sugary substance in his pocket for the kids, I died. The creativity was great and I enjoyed the episode and highly recommend it.

"Every tree has the same hole...." Smh. Last night's episode of Empire was entertaining in parts, but damn was it far fetched. So, instead of just telling Lucious you killed Vernon and he ain't coming back, yall go out into the woods and dig up ditches in an attempt to show off his body? Then Bubs just so happens to have a body detector in the car when Lucious tracks them out to the woods. What?
Then please explain what Cookie was arrested for again? I know people say I'm hard on this show, but it was so great in many parts of season 1, but I just can't crown the show if its not living up to that reputation. i'm not hating, I'm giving an honest critique like I would do for any show. Do better.
Rating: Unrealistic

The best show on Wednesday night this season continues to be Law and Order: SVU. I don't know what I got into the writers this season, but damn are they doing an excellent job each week. Last night's episode focused on police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement. A young man was shot 35 times by 3 officers, who they thought had a gun, but didn't. He wasn't even the correct suspect. We have heard this type of story too often in the news, and SVU tackled it.
But they didn't glorify, nor vilify the police. They told a well rounded story in my opinion, giving us a look inside the mindset of the police, how these cases are investigated, how the police will back their brethren no matter what, how the Attorneys are put in a a difficult spot to prove intent, why certain charges are brought and why certain ones are not. It was just great. I wish this was a three part episode. Really, their could be a spin off dedicated to this issue. Really compelling TV.
Rating: Excellent
