TOP FIVE SHOWS
OF THE LAST WEEK
NUMBER FIVE
Roseanne - ABC
I've been watching the entire reboot of Roseanne, and while it's been good overall, it really hasn't been great since the initial return episode. But last week's edition was pure excellence!! I loved how well balanced and progressively written it was presenting both sides of controversial topics including terrorist fear, bigotry, and stereotypes. That may have been the first reference of EBT cards on TV that I can recall, and definitely the first time it wasn't black people using them. Great episode that really dug deep.
NUMBER FOUR
Billions - Showtime
What in the hell just happened? Full disclosure, my DVR did not record Billions for some reason two weeks ago, so when I watched last weeks episode initially, I was so confused why Axe and Chuck were working together. Once I figured it out and went back then watched this episode, my mind was blown! Wendy has always been the manipulative vixen in the middle of everything, and this episode just further solidified that point. Chuck is completely evil now, and has basically embraced that villain role, and I can't wait for him to get what he deserves, especially for how he did that doctor. What an interesting turn this took.
NUMBER THREE
Designated Survivor - ABC
You can not be an objective viewer of TV and not recognize how well developed and written this season has been!!! They tied a lot of things together last week, most importantly former President Moss is now going run for President again!! I loved how they recounted just how much the White House has relied on Hanna Wells and her investigations because I used to say it was odd how she was involved in everything as wel. Loved that Kirkman wouldn't bow down to either political party and stayed true to his Independent stance. The conclusion was crazy with the sniper trying kill Kendra but instead shooting Emily!! Can't wait for next week's finale!
Edit: I can't believe they cancelled this show after such an excellent season. Smh.

NUMBER TWO
The Americans - FX
This episode feels like the real beginning to the end of the series, as for the first time Philip and Elizabeth feel like they are about to get caught, and its finally by Stan!!! This entire series has had the irony that the two Russian spies live across the street and are best friends with the FBI Agent. And the idiot had absolutely no clue. Well last week, out of nowhere really, Stan became extremely suspicious of Philip and Elizabeth and even searched there house top to bottom!! They are going to get caught or kill him. These are the only ways this ends right? Or hell, the way he's spiraling, Philip may confess. Huge episode and a very important arc to the story makes this one of the very best things on all of TV last week.
THIS WEEK'S NUMBER ONE
Chicago Fire - NBC
The two hour season finale of Chicago Fire was absolutely the best thing I watched last week. So many things happened that played with your emotions just enough it hooked me throughout the entire episode. I want Sylvie and Cruz to get together and was hoping it would finally happen this season. But they dangled that carrot just enough to tease then took it away again. Then there Kelly and his drama with his ex. I felt horrible for Stella and was really glad that didn't have him cheat on her and split them up. On the other hand, I'm over Dawson. She's the most selfish character ever, and Casey deserves better. I like this Boden storyline and I'm glad its carrying over until next year. Great season!!
