TOP FIVE SHOWS
OF THE LAST WEEK
NUMBER FIVE
The Real O.G. - TBS
The season finale of season 1 was actually pretty damn good and I loved the spoof on the Godfather. I love Treys ragtag crew and I think they should be featured a lot more in season 2. Tiffany Haddish is good in every role she's in and this show allowed her strengths to shine. I wonder if Tray and Shay will get together because she seems happy with Josh. Wavey was hilarious here, but since he fired Tray, his role may be over.
NUMBER FOUR
Succession - HBO
The premiere of this new HBO series was actually one of the best debuts I have seen in quite some time and red ending shocked the shit out of me. We learned the purpose and intentions of the main characters and the conclusion built anticipation for what's to come, which is key to any premiere. Do yourself a favor and check it out, no spoilers here.
NUMBER THREE
Marvel's Cloak and Dagger - Freeform
Marvel has really been on a role with their films over the past several years, and we all know the greatness of their Netflix series like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc. But their network series have been hit or miss in my opinion. I really wanted to like Agents of Shield, but it lost my interest, and Inhumans just wasn't good. So when I read about this new Marvel series coming to Freeform, I had very low expectations. After the two episodes that premiered last week, I'm hooked. Very intriguing and many questions are left to be answered. The performances were great and the show has great potential. Be sure to check it out.
NUMBER TWO
Wowwwww, its happening. I said weeks ago that Axe and Chuck were both their own worst enemy and their cockiness would be the reason for the fall. With Axe, you could the ambition of Taylor from a mile away and it was only a matter of time before she would attempt to take down the king. This week showed just how shrewd she is, as she basically played both Axe and Wendy and obtained more power in the company. Only for us to find that she has started her own company and probably will be stealing business and trade secrets from Axe right under his nose. This is getting great!!!
THIS WEEK'S NUMBER ONE
Welcome to Sweetie Pies - OWN
The series finale of one of my favorite reality docu series aired on Saturday night, and it was sad to see Ms. Robbie and the family sign off. I hated seeing Ms. Robbie and Tim beef the last few years and I feel it really put a damper on the show overall. But unfortunately, we have seen this happen when people get reality TV famous, it hurts real life relationships. Tim had bigger goals than his mother did for the company and he went against her wishes too many times. I just hope they are truly past it and can get back to better relationship. I can't even front, when they were in the studio working on the song togtehr, I got a bit choked up. That moment just felt so real. I will truly miss this one.
