TOP FIVE SHOWS
OF THE LAST WEEK
NUMBER FIVE
Power - Starz
So this week had quite a few highlights which of course was headlined by Ghost giving that good thumping to Fancy from the Jamie Foxx show. You know every guy that grew up in our generation wanted to do that!!! Got damn. As for the show, Tommy's daddy looks like he's snitching and snitched his way out of a life sentence. Smh. The main thing for me is the spotlight on just how weak of a character Dre really is. Yo is not a boss, and it's clear and very evident he wasn't built for that position. And it only highlights how weak Ghost is for not killing him and Kanaan, who is the only one presented as tough. Go figure....
NUMBER FOUR
Cloak and Dagger - Freeform
Wow, so much happened that tied up loose ends, answered burning questions, and built to what we hope to see over the final 2 episodes. Tandy has been trying to clear her father's name all season, but discovering that he abused her mother just changed everything. I loved how they got the confession out of the cop who killed Billy, but that ending with the cop who recorded the confession dead was crazy!! I really love this show.
NUMBER THREE
SnowFall - FX
The season 2 premiere was packed full of everything that was great about season 1 and it really solidified the show as a true heavy hitter. I thought season 1 held back far too much and wasn't focused enough on the elements of the show I liked the most, but this episode was an indication that we will get alot more focus on Franklin and the crew and less on the CIA portion, which was largely boring last season. Franklin is all the way in now and the problems that come with being the boss are going really show if he's cut out for this game. Avie getting busted was a pivotal moment, and now we'll see how he adapts.
NUMBER TWO
Love Is - OWN
If you follow me regularly here and the types of shows I watch, you know I'm pretty diverse and pretty much just enjoy good TV. I must say, a sappy love story isn't exactly the type of show I normally would choose to watch. But Love Is is a sensational show that presents such a powerful story of two souls that were essentially meant to be together. It's actually fantastic and for a single man like me, it gives me hope that she's out there and when we connect it will be worth the journey. Excellent show.
THIS WEEK'S NUMBER ONE
Succession - HBO
Wow, just wow. This is the best show on TV right now to me. The story is so great and for many, so relatable. I feel horrible for Kendall, as his father basically drove him back into his addiction. Watching him get high was crazy!! Logan is an asshole, and he completely screwed up all his kids in different ways, which is so well depicted. The most interesting thing was the final scene where Logan is leaving the pool, and we see slashes on his back, like he was abused at some point. It could point to how he was raised and why he is screwed up in the head. Great episode.
