I LOVE REALITY: Love and Hip Hip
I remember it like it was yesterday.
I was flipping through stations one Monday night, and I came across rapper Jim Jones yelling at and threatening this short big white guy with glasses. I was intrigued, so I watched. For the next few moments, i laughed so hard, tears started flowing from my eyes.
I was hooked.
That's how I started watching Love and Hip Hop, a reality show which has now branched out into with 3 different franchises. Today there is the original, Love and Hip Hip New York, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, and a terrible newer version, Love and Hip Hop LA.
My personal favorite is Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, due to the hilarious shenanigans of Stevie J and Benzino. Although, fans all over the world, like me, are saddened and angry that Benzino is no longer apart of the cast. SMH. What a terrible mistake on their part. Now we have to rely on the Kirk, AKA, The pull out Assassin, to help fill the void. But trust me, he will fail. Smh.... Oh well.
Love and Hip Hop is defined by many as ratchet television and hated by millions. Unfortunately for the millions of haters, millions more are entertained and tune in every Monday night for the hilarity. Count me in that number.
Again, I can be entertained by fools. They are funny to me. But at the end of the day, i know I am watching an entertainment show. I am not looking to these people to guide my way of life or thought process. I like to laugh, they make me laugh.
Also, I love to watch good looking women on TV. Sue me. Love and Hip has introduced me to Tahiry, Emily, K Michelle, Yandy, and Erica Mena. All whom I love on Instagram and Twitter by the way. Thank you.
Speaking of Erica Mena. Smh. What she did to those cast mates at the Love and Hip New York reunion last Monday was pathetic and humbling at the same time.
Rather than attending the reunion with everyone else, she taped her interview in a one on one format with Executive producer Mona Scott, in a separate location. She proceeded to bury the entire cast and treat them like she was above all of them and they were mere scum on the bottom of her shoe. She is currently engaged, or she may be married now, to rapper Bow Wow, so she believes she's better than everybody. The way she demeaned and belittled them was classic, hilarious, and shocking.
At any rate, I enjoy the New York and Atlanta versions. the LA version isn't worthy of a discussion.
So if you like to laugh and don't take life to serious, give it a try.
