Week in TV Run It Back
DVR Review - 2/24/17
Thursday 2/9/17 - Wednesday 2/24/17
Thursday
Grey's Anatomy on ABC
9th - Bailey is really doing her best to betray Richard and replace him. This is sad. That man deserves so much better. Then she suspends Meredith for defending him? Mutiny is coming. Sad about Pierce's mother. But even worst was how Maggy treated her mother. Pathetic. 16th - I hate this season so much. Its pathetic what they are doing to Webber and what makes it worst is the fact that they are using the black characters like hos own damn wife and Bailey to do the dirty work. Its pathetic really. This season really sucks. |
Scandal on ABC
9th - Cyrus is not a viable Presidential candidate. He's an evil man and what he let his henchman do to that poor photographer was pathetic. But I must say, he technically didn't order him to kill the President. And i think he really did love the guy and want to serve with him, even though he was told he would be fired as soon as the election was over. And Olivia is going help Cyrus get out. 16th - Wow, so Cyrus didn't do it and he's getting out. It was a hell of an episode and look into the prison system. Olivia has to know that her father and Jake were behind the assassination. Its the only thing that meant since to me from the beginning. It will be interesting to see who the next President is. On another, you see your boy Fitz with the chocolate sister. My man. |
Riverdale on CW
9th - Wow!! So this has taken a turn. Archie is clearly in the crossfire now and there is some more to that sexy school teacher. Clearly she is the key to a lot of this. Man, Betty went crazy!!! She tried to boil that dude alive in the hot tub. Was In The only one who found the whole thing sexy as hell!!! Damn!!! I love this show. Its cliché riddled and all, but it's still entertaining and fun to watch. 16th - So every week we get bigger reveals about the mysteries of this show. This week, Miss Grundy isn't who she portrayed herself to be and she was outed by Betty's mother for her sexual relationship with Archie. In the end they let her leave town unscathed, but the ripples and revelations continued. We learned that Veronica's parents are into some deep shit and the Mayor, Jose's mother is corrupt as well. Lot of dirt in this town. |
How to Get Away With Murder on ABC
9th - Shit was crazy when Annalise set herself up to get pummeled so she could get a bail. I have no clue who started that damn fire. In a way, i wish it was all a lie and that wasn't Wes' body. But its him, he's dead. What role does Nate play in all of this? Annalise's mother was excellent and we found out that she murdered her husband in a fire to save her children years ago. Interesting. 16th - I really don't know who killed Wes, but I really wish it was Connor. He's the most worthless person on the show and the revelation last week that he met with Wes at the house before the explosion and before Wes was killed would lead us to believe he's been lying about what he knows. Frank is clearly innocent and he's working to clear Annalise of the charges. But she's in so deep. Also, why did the DA have Wes' body removed and cremated? |
Sunday
Homeland on Showtime
12th - Yooo!!!! When that bomb blew, my mind did too. Carrie in some real shit now. She pulled strings and broke laws to get the dude out of prison, against the FBI's wishes, and it turns out that he's involved in a terrorist bombing. Smh. Question is, was he involved or was he used as a pawn. Also Carrie's cover is blown. She in some shit now. 19th - What the hell got into Quinn this week? The guy completely snapped and went off the deep end basically holding Franny hostage. I loved it when he shot the dude that threw a rock through the window. Lol. The irony is, this is all Carrie's fault for pulling strings and doing her illegal shit. How this will affect her job with the new president will be interesting. |
Billions on Showtime
19th - The 2nd season of Billions returned with a continuation of what we saw in season 1. Axe Capital is back up and running making money again. And Axe is on the offensive, going after Chuck hard. Looks like Chuck's obsession with Axel may be his undoing. Also I think Axel's obsession with Wendy may be his downfall. I love the show because it tackles a subject rarely covered, and it shows the power struggles of big business trading. |
The Young Pope on HBO
12th - Season 1 has concluded and i must say this show had its highs and lows, but in the end I pretty much left puzzled and ultimately unsatisfied. The Pope was presented as all knowing, all wise and always one step ahead for most of the season. Then all of a sudden the writing nosedived and became nonsensical and hard to follow down the stretch. I suppose there will be a 2nd season but honestly I dont have high hopes for it. |
Monday
Scorpion on CBS
13th - I liked how assertive and aure of himself Sly was this week about his chess skills. The competitiveness in him really came out and I loved this side of him. Walter is getting better clearly and learning to be more emphatic. I really felt for Happy, as Gabe had to take her father in and it really hurt her bad. I like the emotional development of the team, which is what the initial point was from the shows inception. 20th - You know, this show is one of those rare shows where the characters and running storylines are the only reason I continue to watch. Because the weekly missions are so farfetched and unbelievable at times, that its hard to take seriously. But this week the individual focus on Happy in particular was sensational. I also loved the Paige hallucination which showed her feelings for Walt. Foreshadowing? |
24: Legacy on FOX
13th - The lunatic ex solider is a real piece of shit for the move he pulled trying to get paid to turn over the thumb drive with names and identities of all the US undercover operatives on it. Amazing that the conspiracy part was largely revealed in week 2, but a pleasant surprise given the history of the original 24. Im enjoying it but I do feel its missing something. No emotional connection yet. 20th - Idk man. Seems like this show is copying many of the annoying parts of the original 24. You know the annoying storyline where the lead hero always has to work against the authority that is clearly on his side. Its already happened twice this season and i'm annoyed. Why is he breaking the traitor out? What will it really accomplish? This just feels dumb and a time filler. I'm not down on the show, but its nothing special so far. |
SuperGirl on CW
13th - Kara is just too good. She sees good in everyone and many times it makes her extremely naive. Like, how can she not see that Jimmy is still in love with her? Like wake up. And most obvious is her friendship with Lena Luthor. Clearly Lena's motives are deeper than what they appear and Kara is falling for the same crap Lex did to Clark. Then there is the whole Mon-El love saga. Smh. What is wrong with this chick. 20th - So Kara and Mon-El finally got together in the end after all. Unfortunately we all know it won't last. Its more to this guy than what we are seeing right now. I liked the love theme this week and I was really happy for Winn finding a love interest. But I'm sorry, that strange looking creature would have weirded me out. I'm really disappointed Superman hasn't been back on the show since the season began. The tease this week pissed me off!! |
Bates Motel on A&E
20th - So this is the final season of Bates, and it feels like this is far too soon. This show is so great and has built so well that it could go a few more seasons imo. The Norman/Norma psycho persona is so well done. And the fact that Norman is into a chick that looks just like Norma is creepy as hell!! I love this show and the final season is going be insane!! |
Tuesday
Flash on CW
21st - The Gorilla City episode fell short of the hype in some way, as I expected a lot more CG of numerous Gorillas. But the story was good and the ending where it we see Grod has found another way to open the breach to Earth 1 is intriguing. I like that Kid Flash and Jessi Quick will be together on Earth 1. I like when everyone with powers come together. Katlyn is getting more comfortable with her powers. |
DC's Legends of Tomorrow on CW
21st - This week the Legends went to Camelot, where they fought King Arthur’s army to stop the supervillains from getting their hands on another piece of the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ during his crucifixion. They need to stop doing death fakeouts because they’re increasingly meaningless, but we get another one this week as Ray Palmer stops Rip and Damien Darhk from toppling Camelot. |
The Challenge Invasion on MTV
14th - Lines were pretty clearly drawn this week, with two cast members from Seattle, Theo and Annika being thrown in together and sent home by Corey and Jenna. Tough to watch because i like Theo, but Corey my man. And it was utterly pathetic to see Theo quit. Yo face was priceless. LMAO. The vets are coming soon, and I truly hope the new cast members beat their ass. Tired of the same old people winning. 21st - Welp, playtime is over and the real champs are here. I like the concept in theory but I don't like the fact that the champions didn't have to compete in a separate competition against other champions at the same time the others were competing. I fear that some of the newer players will be in awe of the champs and work with them instead of trying to take them out, especially the females. Jenna and Kayla will run over there quickly. |
This Is Us on NBC
14th - I hope the Randall health issue is just anxiety he's been facing his entire life because i really couldn't take him having a terminal disease or something. He's too important to the show. The flashbacks showed us more issues in the marriage for Jack and Rebecca. I still can't understand how she get with Miguel, even though he had a nice moment this week. Jack is just so great and an excellent character. Loved the big fella this week. 21st - This is the greatest show in television and to me its not close. The stories, the characters, the emotion it displays is simply like no other show on TV. William's battle with cancer and death, was covered so well and Randall is one of the greatest characters on TV. Wow man, such a pleasure to see black characters presented like any other race of people with real issues and challenges. Also, staying true to the experience. Loved it!!! |
Chicago Fire on NBC
Yes!!! Finally a storyline with some meat on the bone. The District Chief messed up and Boden covered his ass. Then his feelings were hurt and and he's determined to make Boden and 51's life hell. Splitting up the crew like that is crazy but its welcomed change of pace to the shows story. Also, I am very skeptical of Kelly is going to leave Chicago for Springfield. Its seems too good to be true. The girl the job. Tough call. 21st - Wow, they had a great storyline that they could have let roll for a few weeks a build some real intrigue, but they blew their stack in ONE DAMN EPISODE!!! WHY!!! Why end it so quickly!! This was an example of stupid storytelling. Just plain stupid. They could have gotten some great drama out of the team split up in different units for a few shows, but its over. I mean, great result, but it went waaay too fast. In that way it failed. |
Wednesday
Black Ink Crew on VH1
15th - I don't know man. Your boy Cease sure did look shaky when shorty made the claim about him getting her sister pregnant and making her get an abortion. Kind of believable. Then there's your boy Walt dropping off the court papers to Oshit. I get it, Shit need to handle his business but you don't serve your boy court papers idiot!!!! 22nd - So are Cease and Dutchess really done? I mean, I believe that he probably did get the side chick pregnant and had her get an abortion. I believe it. And clearly Duchess had her suspicions before this, or she wouldn't have had that reaction. Then how she just left town, really cemented that. Also, Sky always got some bullshit skeletons coming out of her closet. I don't know about this chick and her tough act hurts her credibility when she's weeping and telling her story. I'm over it. |
Blackish on ABC
15th - I loved this week's focus on the name of the new baby. Dre pushed hard for his son to have a black name, Devonte, and it was great. His motives were pure, he was proud of the black names of his culture and wanted his son to be proud of his culture. Then there is Junior. Smh. He was so pathetic trying to get the girl, but he actually got her after awhile. Then, botched it, bad. And lost his white girlfriend. Smh. 22nd - What a great damn episode. I love how this show tackles current issues and puts a humorous spin on them. President Obama challenged us to stop jury dodging and actually serve and be represented when our fellow brother and sisters are being prosecuted. And that's what Dre did. And it was hilarious. Also the kids cussing was some of the funniest shit ever on the show. |
Are You the One on MTV
15th - Well, I'm officially stumped. Who knows really how to win this damn game. They keep saying follow your heart but I think that's bullshit. Making connections that are deemed irrelevant due to an algorithm created before the cast meets each other is dumb to me. In fact, its so dumb, I've now determined that the shit is rigged and I have no further desire to review this show. Its just too easy for the producers to manipulate things. 22nd - These guys are idiots. At some point, you have to realize that this game isn't just about the matches, its about making money. So you have to think strategically, while also following your heart on the side. They have to separate the two. I would just find someone I want to be with, be with them, and then matchup with the person the matchmakers most likely think is your match. Duh!! |
