What you should be Watching: Friday Night Tykes
There are few people who enjoy watching a good reality show more than me. I can't explain my interest in watching people compete in a competition based show or simply having their daily lives documented for television purposes.
Well once in awhile a true reality based do-cu-series comes along and completely captivates TV viewers. To me, that show is Friday Night Tykes.
Friday Night Tykes follows five youth football teams of 10- and 11 year olds in the San Antonio, Texas area. The San Antonio Division of the Texas Youth Football Association is one of the higher levels of competition for youth football stars in the country.
Every week viewers follow the preparation and game day activities of the selected teams and different athletes and their families are highlighted. The Coaches of the teams are interviewed and act as narrators for the events that unfold.
Believe me, Friday Night Tykes is 100% real. This show puts on display for the world to see, everything good and bad about youth football in America. Good and bad coaches are highlighted for their style of motivation, coaching principles, such as form tackling, are open for critique, and the overall leadership of the coaches are on display.
Friday Night Tykes is closing in on the end of it's 2nd season and it is without a doubt a huge success for the Esquire Network. Though the show is extremely controversial, it draws a consistent audience due to the fact that it tackles a subject that is huge in this country, youth athletics.
The authentic presentation of Friday Night Tykes makes it must see television on Friday nights on the Esquire Network. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
