Best Thing I Watched Last Week: Tyrant
The best show I watched last week, was without question, Tyrant on FX. This show continues to be one of the best shows that very few people watch.
I have been a big fan of Tyrant for the past two seasons, and last week's episode presented a huge reveal that fans of the show have been waiting for all season.
At the start of the season, Barry was supposed to be hung and executed for treason, but Jamal couldn't do it and worked out a plan that dumped Barry in the middle of the desert.
Well all season, we have anticipated the moment when its discovered by his family that Barry isn't dead. And last week, it happened. Barry has been working with a group that is trying to fight against the powers that be and bring peace to Abuddin. He has taken a new name Khalil, and has managed to keep his true identity secret from just about everyone.
Well, his son, Sammy came to meet up with the man who he only knows as the alias Khalil. When Sammy see's that his father is still alive, the emotions in the scene are crazy good.
Sammy is upset, and rightly so. You’d think that the least Barry could do would be to figure out a way to call home or write or something, to let them know not to come back to Abuddin, and that he’s alive and trying to save people. Sammy says this when expressing how he should be relieved to find his father alive, not angry about it.
Barry tries to give some “hero complex” answer, but Sammy replies back, “You’re not my father. My father’s dead.” Sammy says how Barry would always brush him off, making Sammy think that Barry hated him. Well now, Sammy hates Barry, and that’s all we need to know.
What a great episode. If you are not watching this show, please do yourself a favor and catch up. Its the best thing I watched last week.
