Crew Chronicles: Love is All we Need
Over the weekend, I was honored to attend and take part in the wedding ceremony of my friend and brother Ricky Williams, and his lovely bride Monica Williams. To say the occasion was exceptional, would simply be an understatement. These two exhibit everything I imagine when I think of a happy couple, and I pray that God continues to bless their union, and grant them years of love and happiness.
I have been blessed with a great group of friends that I consider my family. It really never ceases to amaze me how we always come together to take joy in one another's happiness. That is truly a blessing.
They say that most people can count their true friends on one hand, and that statement is very true. I have been fortunate to connect with people who genuinely are good people and just like to enjoy laughing and having a good time.
When something good happens in one of our lives, we celebrate it. We don't get jealous and envious or wish bad on one another. We sincerely want each other to succeed. Trust me, I know the difference. I used to consider some people friends who really didn't have my best interest at heart. I used to appease certain people and put up with certain things, just to try to preserve a friendship.
But as you get older, you really realize who your true friends are. In my darkest hour, my Crew has been there for me. In my greatest moments, my Crew has been by my side. On a regular day in May, I know who my true friends are. That is a blessing.
We don't just say we love each other, we show it. So as I watched my friend whom I consider a brother, tie the knot with his true love, the love was transparent and real. You couldn't help but feel great for two great people. That's what true friends do, celebrate each others happiness.
In the end, love will keep them together.
