  • Joe Flacco pass short middle to 84-D.Waller for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
  • Flacco pass short middle to 89-S.Smith for 11 yards, TOUCHDOWN
  • 2 Point - Flacco pass to 44-K.Juszczyk is complete
  • Flacco pass deep left to 18-B.Perriman for 27 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

​Final Thoughts

Joe Flacco threw three touchdown passes, but it was far from pretty for the Ravens offense on the National TV stage. Baltimore trailed 7-3 late in the second quarter before gaining control during a third quarter in which Flacco went 10 for 12 with two scores.

​The Ravens (5-4) have won two in a row following a four-game losing streak. Baltimore is the only team in the AFC North above .500. Flacco went 30 for 41 for 296 yards and two interceptions. For the Ravens to reach the heights they dream to reach this year, Joe has to play at a higher level, and make far less mistakes. But that defense is pretty special. Dallas this Sunday should be fun.

  • Joe Flacco completed a short pass across the middle to Mike Wallace for 95 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
  • Flacco's 95-yard TD pass to Wallace is the longest pass play in Ravens history.
  • Justin Tucker 49 yard field goal is GOOD
  • Roethlisberger pass INTERCEPTED by Timmy Jernigan at PIT 32.
  • Tucker 42 yard field goal is GOOD
  • Steelers punt is BLOCKED by Buck Allen, RECOVERED by BAL Chris Moore at PIT 14. Moore for 14 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
  • Roethlisberger pass deep middle to 84-A.Brown for 23 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
  • Roethlisberger scrambles up the middle for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

​​Final Thoughts

The Ravens ​returned to the field after a much needed bye week, and delivered an impressive defensive performance over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Through three quarters, the Ravens defense was absolutely sensational. Ben Roethlisberger returned to the field after an injury a few weeks ago, and attempted to send the Ravens to their 5th straight loss. 

But the defense completely shut down one of the most high powered offenses the league has. Roethlisberger went 8 for 18 for 54 yards and an interception through three quarters. The Steelers offense produced only two first downs and was limited to 69 yards. Think about this, the Steelers finished with 36 yards rushing, 32 by Le'Veon Bell. You have to give the Ravens defense, especially their secondary all the credit. The pass rush was not great. Big Ben was barely touched. But the coverage on Antonio Brown and his pals was magnificent. 

The Ravens offense still has a lot of work to do. But for today, lets celebrate.

Week 9: Ravens vs Steelers Preview

This Sunday at 1pm, the Baltimore Ravens will host their arch rival the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. This game is a must win for the Ravens who are in the midst of a four game losing streak and are coming off a much needed bye week. The question many will be asking is, what Ravens team will take the field. After starting the year 3-0 and relatively healthy, key players have been dropping left and right.

Its one thing to miss a key player or two, that happens to every team, but the Ravens have been without Steve Smith, Terrell Suggs, CJ Mosley, Elvis Dumervil, Ronnie Stanley, Marshal Yanda, Rick Wagner, Jimmy Smith, Shareece Wright, and more. Those are some positions to be missing players in. But losing is not an option at this point. Check out my preview for this week's game.

  • Flacco hit Perriman with a huge 41 yard pass on 3rd and 9, heavy under pressure.
  • Penalties as normal stall the drive and the Ravens settle for a field goal.

Defense 
  • Beckham catches the ball and Weddle forces a fumble on first down.
  • Recovered by the the Ravens

Offense
  • Aiken catches a ball the sets up 1st and goal.
  • And Terrance West punches it in for the touchdown.

Ravens 10 Giants 0

Defense 
  • Defense forces a quick 3 and out. Ravens have the momentum

Offense 
  • Penalties are killing the Ravens again this week negating a big plays.
  • Punt.

Defense 
  • Once again the defense is playing great and forces another 3 and out.
  • Tavon Young is playing great at corner against those big time receivers.

Offense 
  • The offensive line is horrible. Just pathetic.
  • Flacco has absolutely no time to do anything.
  • Offside on the Giants special teams gives the Ravens another chance.
  • West racks up a huge 34 yard run to mid field.
  • But Different week same shit. Penalties a destroying any momentum.
  • The offensive line is pathetic. Punt

Defense 
  • The Giants picked up their first 1st down with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter and the Ravens are only up 10.
  • But that's all they get. Great job defense. Punt

  • Three throws, nothing, punt

Defense
  • Great plays by Jimmy Smith on OBJ. Eli is moving the ball though and now Smith is forced to leave the game due to injury.
  • Tide is shifting. Giants pick up an huge 4th and 5.
  • Eli throws a 24 yard touchdown to Roger Lewis Jr.
  • Tide completely changed once Smith left.

Offense 
  • Before halftime Flacco tried to move the ball down the field but the drive was ended due to Flacco getting killed by the pass rush.
  • They have no respect for our lineman. Punt.

Defense 
  • Eli tries to take the Giants down the field but the Ravens pick him off to end the half.

Defense 
  • The Giants drive the ball down the field on the defense going 11 plays, but the Defense stiffens at the goal line and forces a field goal

  • Finally West is touching the ball again, and that normally means positive things.
  • A huge play by Flacco degated by another hold, then the next play a false start.
  • What the fuck. Drive killed by penalties. Fucking punting again.

Defense 
  • Tavon Young comes up with a huge interception deep in Giants territory setting up the offense perfectly.

Offense 
  • Even with the great field position, the line is not giving the receivers enough time to run deeper routes and everything is quick and rushed.
  • They settle for a field goal. 

Ravens 13 Giants 10

Defense 
  • 1st play, OBJ gives Powers a double move and goes 75 yards for a touchdown. 
  • Simply pathetic coverage by Powers.

Offense 
  • On 1st down Flacco returns the favor and goes deep for 70 yards to Mike Wallace for a huge play that would have been a touchdown had Jenkins not tackled Wallace by his face mask at the 5 yard line.
  • But after running down to the 1 with West, they attempt a QB sneak on 2nd and the line gets killed. 3rd down West gets stuffed.
  • So on 4th down, Harbaugh decides to not take the 3 points and instead goes for it and they get nothing.
  • FUUCCKKKKK. Why go for it and leave 3 points on the table. We lose for dumb shit like this every week.

Defense 
  • After the Giants move the ball to the 20, the defense forces a punt.
  • But that stop would have meant  more after adding the points earlier.

Offense
  • Flacco goes deep to Wallace and he's interfered with at the 30.
  • Huge play. West cut backs for a huge 11 yard run.
  • Flacco missed a wide open Dixon running into the end zone because of the pass rush.
  • Field goal. Should have taken the last one too.

Defense 
  • OBJ burns Wright down the sideline. Smh.
  • Suggs sacked Eli and injured his shoulder on the play.
  • He looks really hurt. Ravens force a field goal.

Offense 
  • On 4th down Flacco throws a deep pass to Aiken and picks it up!!
  • West with a great run.
  • On 3rd down, the Ravens get bailed out with a huge controversial pass interference call that puts the ball on the 8 yard line.
  • But on 3rd down West plunges his way in for the touchdown. 

Ravens 23 Giants 20

Defense 
  • D forces a 4th and 1 and OBJ catches a quick slant and takes it to the house 66 yards.
  • Weddle ran into Tavon Young. Smh.

Ravens 23 Giants 27

Offense 
  • Ravens last ditch drive fails again.
  • Flacco was erratic and missed easy throws.
  • But they still had a chance and failed.

Final score: Ravens 23 Giants 27
​Final Thoughts

The Ravens were beaten by not only the New York Giants on Sunday, but once again they were beaten by their own mistakes and shortcomings. Injuries are starting to really stack up and at the wrong time. Lets see, both outside pass rushers, both corner backs, (though Shareece Wright isn't much of a lost in my opinion), the middle linebacker, both tackle and right guard, and of course our top receiver. All of these key injuries played a major role in this week's loss and that can't be refuted.

But there were ways they could have overcome these issues and still won this ballgame. Through it all, ONCE AGAIN, it was still a one possession game and points, any point, were important and meaningful. And once gain Coach Harbaugh opted to gamble and go for the touchdown on fourth down. And of course, we didn't convert and of course those three points we opted not to take, could and would have been beneficial down at the end of the game. The Ravens could have easily been in need of a field goal to win instead of a touchdown, had we simply utilized one of the best kickers in football. 

​Look, I like my coach to have to bravado and swag to him, I like confidence. But on the road, team littered with injuries on the line, and secondary. TAKE THE POINTS!!! I have never been down on Coach Harbaugh and still don't really want him fired, but lets face it, He makes very few decisions that win us games but many of his decisions have cost us. Bad clock management, undisciplined with numerous penalties year after year, bad situational decisions at key points. Not to mention he brings nothing to the table offensively or defensively. 

If we lose next week to the Jets, the sorry jets, Heads will roll!!!!

1st Quarter

​Offense 
  • Ravens coming out clicking in offense mixing good runs with smart passes.
  • West is running hard. Terrance West with a huge 35 yard run on 3rd and short. The Ravens are clicking!! Everything is working.
  • Mike Wallace is involved early.
  • On 1st and goal, Flacco hits Gilmore with the touchdown pass off the play action. Excellent drive!!!

Ravens 7 Redskins 0

Defense 
  • Ravens have the number 1 ranked defense but that can be deceiving.
  • Shereece Wright deactivated for this game.
  • Defense comes out clicking and forces a quick 3 and out

Offense
  • Nice 15 yard pass to Steve Smith on 1st down. A holding call backs the Ravens up on 2nd down.
  • For some reason they run Dixon on 2nd and 20. And are forced off the field after an unsuccessful 3rd down.

*The Redskins Crowder runs the punt back 85 yards for a touchdown. Right up the middle. Due to the wind, the Skins miss the extra point.

Ravens 7 Redskins 6

Offense 
  • West racks off another 12 yard run on 1st down.
  • On 3rd and short Steve Smith hauls in a pass but leaves the game with a lower leg injury. He was hobbled a bit earlier but returned.
  • From there the offense stalled. The air completely left the offense after Smith's exit. Not to mention 4 straight pass plays.
  • On 3rd down the offense is bailed out with a 26 yard pass interference call. Buck Allen breaks a nice 6 yard run.
  • West is clicking!! Every time he touches the ball he gets positive big plays. But they are rotating the running backs far too much.
  • The Ravens settle for a field goal after the drive stalls at the the 10. The contemplating going for it but instead wised up and took the points.

Ravens 10 Redskins 6

*Once againn Special teams lets the Ravens down and they gave up.a hige kick return to their own 45. Terrible coverage,

Defense 
  • Ravens have been shutting down whatever the Redskins have tried to do so far. They force a 4th and short that the Skins pick up.
  • On 3rd down, Suggs picks up a huge Sack, which forces them out of field goal range. Punt.

Offense 
  • Run game is clicking so play action is too. Great mid level pass to Pitta.
  • Flacco then takes a deep shot to Perriman but he fails to bring it in. You have to make that catch. Perfect deep ball wasted.
  • On the next play, they drop back to pass again and Flacco is sacked.
  • 4 straight passes and the Ravens are forced to punt.
  • Got to run more and make catches when they are there

Defense 
  • Too much time for Cousins and the skins pick up a first down from their own end zone.
  • Next Play, Zack Orr pops the ball out of Matt Jones hands on the run tackle and the Ravens recover the fumble at the 15. Huge play.

Offense 
  • The Ravens are not able to move the ball at all, even after being given the ball at the 15. Not one run was called on 1st or 2nd down but on 3rd and long now they decide to run the ball. Smh. 
  • Then to make matters worst, they call a fake field goal and Tucker tries to throw a touchdown and it bounces off the head of the defensers.
  • WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!! 15 yard line, and they walk away with nothing!!!!

Defense 
  • And of course now the Skins are moving the ball. Smh. That type of failure has to deflate the defense.
  • Cousins is dishing and now a 15 yard roughing the passer and 5 yard offsides adds to the problems.
  • Jordan Reed is eating the defense up now.
  • But on 4th and 1 the Ravens shut down the Skins again and close the door. Great stop!!!!

Offense 
  • Ravens quickly go three and out with 3 straight passes.
  • Offense was too rushed and didn't utilize the run game.

Defense 
  • The defense bends but doesn't break before the half and forces a 56 yard field goal attempt by the Skins and it's short as we head to halftime. 

Ravens 10 Redskins 6

Defense 
  • Ravens defense comes out bending a bit but force another Redskins punt. Good job by corner Tavon Young.

Offense 
  • Ravens come out wanting to run but a holding call forces a 3rd and long and Flacco is sacked.
  • Missing two lineman now.as Rick Wagner left the game with injury.

*Terrible punt due to the wind and the Skins will get the ball at midfield

Defense 
  • Skins take advantage of the great field position and come out smoking.
  • Cousins hits pass after pass and finishes the drive with a 25 yard touchdown to Garcon, as he burnt Jimmy Smith.

Ravens 10 Redskins 13

Offense 
  • The offensive line is in shambles. Due to injury, everyone but Zuttah is in a different position.
  • Joe is getting hit on every play but they just keep throwing.
  • No run plays at all on the drive and the Ravens go 3 and out.

Defense
  • Moseley picks off Cousins and runs it to the corner of the end zone but he fumbles the ball out of the end zone and its ruled a touchback.
  • Mother fucker.

Defense 
  • To make matters worst Moseley got hurt on the play and was forced out of the game. And his presence was truly missed.
  • Redskins ran the ball right down the Ravens throat and hit passes right across the middle where Moseley would've been. Smh.
  • The drive went 11 plays and 72 yards and ended with a field goal. 6 minutes came off the clock. Smh.
  • You go from having a touchdown or at least the ball on the 1 from the pick, to giving up 3.

Ravens 10 Redskins 16

Offense 
  • West breaks another huge run on 1st down for 38 yards. They need to feed this guy!!! But no, they run Buck Allen, even after the change of quarter break.
  • 2nd down West is stopped for no gain for the first time all day. 11 carries 95 yards. On 3rd down Flacco is hit as he throws and the Ravens are off the field. No pass protection at all.

Defense 
  • Cousins hits Deshawn Jackson with a huge 27 yard pass. Smh.
  • But the Defense steps up and forces a punt on the next 2 plays.
  • The punt pins the Ravens inside the 5.

Offense 
  • The Ravens come out and throw 3 straight times and are forced to punt.
  • Not one run. The fans boo the Ravens as they leave the field.

Defense 
  • On 3rd down the Ravens defense just missed out on a big play as the Skins have a bad snap and the ball is free. But Cousins runs it down, picks it up and throws it in far enough in the direction of Jackson that its not intentional grounding.
  • Could've been a huge play. Punt.

Offense 
  • Three passes to Gilmore starts the drive.
  • Not one run to West since his 11th carry went for no gain.
  • Joe misses Wallace on 3rd down, and another punt.

Defense 
  • Ravens get off the field with 2:33 remaining in the game.

Offense 
  • After some shaky passes and Flacco preserves the drive on 4th and 2 with his legs for the 1st down.
  • Joe is finally hitting receivers and moving the ball down the field.
  • Joe hits Perriman for the go ahead touchdown from the 25!!!! But after review, his second foot was not down, call overturned.
  • Killer. Smh. You got to get that foot down man.
  • 3 plays later, the Ravens are unable to pick up the first down.
  • Ravens lose again
  • Fuck!!

The Ravens were beaten by their own arrogance. You take points when they are there.

​Ravens vs Raiders Live Stream 

1st Quarter

Defense 
  • After stopping the run convincingly on 1st and wnd downs, the Ravens force quick 3 and out to start the game.
  • The linebackers are firing off the ball

Offense
  • Flacco hits some pretty nice throws in yhe middle of the field. The run game has some holes, but holding calls calls back a good run.
  • Aiken gets called for offensive PI and negates a 25 yard gain. Penalties are hurting them early. 
Defense 
  • Once again the defense is stopping the run and forcing passing situation on 3rd down.
  • And once again they forced a 3 and out. Great start.

Offense 
  • Flacco starts at his own 5 yard line and has some success moving the ball again.
  • But for the second drive in a row, penalties are killing the Ravens. Jeez.
  • They are going up tempo, no huddle and unfortunately the penalties force them to punt again. Steve Smith hasn't been targeted yet.
Defense
  • The Ravens are shooting themselves in the foot to with dumb penalties. This game has been ugly so far with flag after flag.
  • On 3rd and long the Raiders pick up the 1st with a deep pass to Amari Cooper on Jimmy Smith. Smh. They started this drive 1st and 25.
  • But on 3rd and 1 on the d line and linebackers shut the drive down and forced a punt.

Offense
  • Thanks to the Oakland punter, the offense at their own 6 and gets nothing done. 3 and out.
Defense 
  • On the point, Oakland returner Richard runs it back to the 6 yard line.
  • On the very next play, Carr passes to Seth Roberts for the touchdown over Webb.

Raiders 7 Ravens 0

​Offense
  • Devin Hester ran the kick off back to the 50. Huge return. Flacco is warming up and finally hits Steve Smith with a great pass to move the ball down into the red zone.
  • Buck Allen picked up a huge 1st down catching a pass from Flacco. The drive stalls and the Ravens settle for a field goal.
  • Huge missed opportunity with the field position. 

Raiders 7 Ravens 3

Defense 
  • Ravens coming out physical against the run and shut it down.
  • Big Holding call forces the Raiders into a 3rd and long and the Ravens get off the field.
Offense 
  • West comes out with a big 20 yard burst. Best run of the day.
  • On 3rd down Pitta gets held and gets a 1st down with a PI call.
  • Flacco taking dome huge hits and is forced to get rid of the ball way before he wants to.
  • Khalil Mack is killing backup tackle James Hurst. Ravens forced to punt. Couldn't stay in field goal range due to a bad holding penalty.

Defense
  • Jimmy Smith tackled the Oakland tight end with a shot to the knee from behind. I didn't like it. On 3rd down Crabtree mossed Shareece Wright. Carr is moving the ball now.
  • Cooper with a big reception and then Washington takes the pitch and runs it down to the 6. 
  • Shareece Wright gets smoked by Crabtree for the touchdown. Smh. No no huddle killed the defense. 

Raiders 14 Ravens 3

Offense 
  • Ravens come out and throw 3 straight passes and punt the ball.
  • One dimensional offense is the easiest to defend.

Defense 
  • Thanks to a holding call against Oakland on 3rd down, the Ravens force a 3 and out.

Offense
  • Joe is throwing alot and it won't stop here. A big first down to Perriman sparks the drive in 3rd down.
  • Huge pass and run to Juscheck, then Joe hits another big pass to Steve Smith for a first down at the 25.
  • Great job with the 2 minute offense. Tucker kicks in 3 more points to end the half.

Raiders 14 Ravens 6

2nd HALF

Offense
  • Hester fumbles the opening kickoffn but gets it back. Man on man. Ravens come out clicking, good passes and run penetration.
  • Buck Allen once again gets involved and picks up a big 1st down. West has a great run called back by a holding call. Smh.
  • And the offense is forced into passing situations and Flacco runs for his life. Punts again. Penalties are killing them.

Defense
  • Ravens force their 5th 3 and out after Oakland has penalty issues that back them up. Alot of flags this game.

Offense
  • West has a patient and pounding run for a big 1st down.
  • Then West gashes them up the middle and fumbles the ball!!! Thank God that Zuttah got it back somehow.
  • Ravens moving the ball well, mixing it up finally. Flacco makes a hell of play under pressure running to his left throwing back to his right to Gilmore.
  • West runs it down to the 1 with a great cut. It wasn't easy but on 4th down, Flacco sneaks in for the touchdown.

Raiders 14 Ravens 12

For some reason they go for 2 this early and don't convert. I disagree with the call. Too much football left not to take the points.

Defense 
  • The Ravens are fired up now on defense.
  • Dumerevil put some serious heat on Carr and they force a quick 3 and out.
Offense
  • Ravens are dominating time of possession in the 2nd half. But on 3rd Flacco is smashed from behind and fumbles the football.
  • Ball recovered by the Raiders. Smh.

Defense 
  • The Ravens D comes out flying and shuts down Oakland. On 3rd down the Ravens get a big stop and the Raiders commits a 15 yard penalty. Harbaugh accepts the penalty and the drive continues.
  • I disagree with this call completely. He should have made it 4th down and let them take their 3 points. What is this dumb shit.
  • And of course the Raiders pick up damn near the first down the next play and then go for it and the Ravens jump offsides.
  • This is the bullshit that loses you games. Why would you give them that chance dumb ass.
  • And of course on 3rd down Carr hits Crabtree for another touchdown. 

Raiders 21 Ravens 12

Offense 
  • Ravens move the ball to start the drive with passes to Perriman and Pitta. But the pressure is all over Flacco's ass.
  • Mack gets a big sack after a holding call in the Ravens o line. Punt.

Defense
  • Ravens are without Weddle who was hurt on the touchdown play.
  • Ravens force a 3 and out.

Offense
  • Ravens in desperation mode with just over 6 minutes to go.
  • On the first play Flacco hits Steve Smith down the middle and he takes it 52 yards for the touchdown!!!!
  • Ravens right back in it. 

Raiders 21 Ravens 19

Defense 
  • Weddle is back and they shut down the run to start the drive.
  • Defense forces a holding call. 3rd down, Alexander fumbles!!!
  • Ravens recover!!!

Offense 
  • Ravens pound the rock. And Juscheck gets s huge 1st down on 3rd down.
  • Terrence West walks into the end zone for the touchdown!!!!!
  • And the Ravens convert the 2 point to Mike Wallace.

Raiders 21 Ravens 27

After the play Wallace gets an unsportsmanlike penalty that helps to give Oakland great starting field position on the 34 yard line. Dumb mistake.

Defense 
  • Crabtree with back to back 1st downs. Wright is playing 15 yards off the ball. Now its pitch and catch.
  • Carr is picking his spots. Webb is hurt on a huge collision in the end zone with a tight end.
  • On the very next play Crabtree burns Wright again for a touchdown.
  • That was fucking embarrassing.

Raiders 28 Ravens 27

Offense 
  • Drive starts with a huge draw run by West for damn near 20 yards.
  • Great start at the 2 minute warning.
  • Big 1st down to Steve Smith at midfield on 3rd down.
  • Huge drop by Moore on 1st down.
  • Flacco tosses it up and its tipped and almost picked. 3
  • rd down, bad pass to Pitta low.
  • 4th down Aiken has it and is popped and drops the ball. Game over.

Final: Raiders 28 Ravens 27
​Final Thoughts

The Ravens were defeated for the first time in the 2016 season by a very good young offense that just made more plays when they needed to. This lost by no means makes the Ravens a bad team or puts them in panic mode, but losing at home is nothing to just dismiss. Especially in game where the offense once against started slow and had to fight back to regain the lead with minutes left, only to squander it on defense. And then they still had a chance to get in position to kick a game winning field goal, and couldn't get it done.

Much of the blame must be placed on Coaching, no doubt. Questionable decisions to go for a two point conversion long before it was needed was baffling. Also the decision to accept a penalty, instead of declining it and forcing the Raiders to kick a field goal, also resulted in them converting and scoring a touchdown. These types of calls standout when you coach a team that never wins comfortably and every game is close. Decision like these come back to bite you. That's why i say, always take the points!

Another area where we struggled was protecting Joe Flacco. While he wasn't sacked a lot, his throws were rushed all day due to the offensive line having no answer for K Mack coming off the edge. Rookie Left tackle Ronnie Stanley missed the game due to injury and he was truly missed. Nothing was allowed the time to develop downfield, which is the strength. And while the Terrance West found success for the Ravens running game for the first time this season, there were not enough touches for the backs. The team turned into a one dimensional offense once gain, which made it easy on the Oakland defense.

Which brings me to the real reason for the lost and that is the horrible performance by the Ravens secondary and in particular, Shareece Wright.  How many big plays can one man surrender before you realize he's the problem. And this will only get worst as we enter into the part of the schedule with even more high powered passing offenses. The defensive secondary has to be addressed ASAP, if the Ravens want any chance of making it far this year.

Defense
  • Ravens could have forced a huge turnover on the opening kick as the Jags return man fumbled the ball, but we couldn't fall on it.
  • Defense came out firing forcing a quick 3 and out. Good job.
  • Ravens will get the ball damn near at the 50!

Offense
  • Forsett off to a bad start on 1st down.
  • Flacco went 0-2 and even with the great field position, the Ravens were forced to punt. And penalties made this even worst. Smh.

Defense
  • Great pursuit to the ball by the defense. I'm liking the energy and pursuit.
  • Corriea with a hell of a play on the zone blitz coverage. 
  • Great job getting off the field by the defense. 

Offense
  • Another 3 and out by the offense, but you can tell Treshman is getting frustrated with the run game. All three play were passes.
Defense
  • Ok, they not scared of the Jags. I'm impressed. They allowed one first down and then got them off the field. 

Offense
  • Ok, Joe throwing that thing now. 
  • Great first down to Pitta across the middle.
  • Excellent run after the catch by Mike Wallace for a big first down.
  • Steve Smith eats the zone up and takes a great pass deep into Jags territory. Ball is moved to the 9 after a penalty on the Jags.
  • TOUCHDOWN BY JOE FLACCO as he runs it in himself. 

Defense
  • Jags are starting to move the ball a bit. 
  • Allen Robinson picks u a big first down in front of Sherece Wright. 
  • CJ Mosley with  HUGE INTERCEPTION!!!!!

Offense
  • Offense is clicking now with a variety of plays that are keeping the Jags off balanced and guessing wrong.
  • Flacco is missing it up and they even ran a bootleg for him to run for 7 yards.
  • Drive stalls at the 30 and is capped off by a Justin Tucker FG.

Defense

  • ​Jags are getting desperate to move teh ball and having a little success this drive.
  • Big holding call slows them down.
  • Eric Weddle with a huge hit jarring away what would have been a huge first down by Allen Robinson.
  • Great job getting off the field.

Offense
  • No production from the run game has really hampered the offense at key spots.
  • Can't do play action of you can't run the ball. Big blown block by Zutah stalls the offense and they are forced to punt.
  • Punt is run all the way back to 35 yard line.

Defense
  • Defense fights, but breaks. Allen Robinson catches a touchdown pass.

Offense
  • 2 minutes before the half and Joe is dishing that rock like a champ.
  • Joe is hitting everyone in stride and walking down the field.
  • Huge blown block by the rookie Stanley and Flacco is stripped sacked. Luckily he gets his own fumble back. 
  • Justin Tucker misses a damn near 60 yarder, but a penalty by the Jags gives him another chance and he nails it to end the half.

3rd Quarter

Offense
  • Terrance West opens the 3rd quarter with a great run, best of the year.
  • Offense just moving down the field with ease. 
  • Flacco has completed 21 passes in a row and he's not dinking and dunking. He's hitting everybody too!!! I love it.
  • Mike Wallace drops what would have been a touch down on the side of the end-zone. DAMN MAN.
  • Tucker knocks in another field goal.

Ravens 16 Bills 7

Defense
  • Ravens failing to get consistent pressure on Bortles. Suggs is a no show.
  • Bortles has all day and he's moving the ball down the field.
  • Bortles throws a pass to Robinson in the end zone that appears at first to be a touchdown, but the ball is dislodged by Jimmy Smith as they hit the ground. So the ref calls it incomplete. Jags challenge and its ruled a touchdown. I agree with the call.

Ravens 16 Bills 14

Offense
  • Bad holding call on a screen play on first down puts the offense in a hole.
  • Joe takes some shots but the defense forces the offense off the field.

Defense
  • Still not able to get a pas rush. Bortles is moving around at will. 
  • The defense bends but doesn't break and forces a punt.

Offense
  • Offense doesn't look crisp on this drive, and penalties really hurt.

Defense
  • Finally the Ravens get some pressure on Brtles and pic up back to back sacks. Suggs and Jernigan. 
  • But shockingly, Devin Hester muffs the punt and the jags recover.

Defense
  • The Jags pick up 7 yards, but are in range for a 45 yard field goal.

Offense
  • Stanley with another penalty!!!!
  • Steve Smith bails us out playing like a man on back to back plays!!!
  • Flacco throws a terrible interception in the direction of Pitta. Horrible!!

Defense
  • In a crazy turn of events, Big Timmy J tipped the ball and Young picked off Bortles!!!!!

Offense
  • What the hell!!!! Flacco's arm is hit and he throws a pick right back!!!!!

Defense
  • Ok this game is insane!!! The Ravens hold the Jags to a fg try, and then put on a mean shift and block the kick!!!!! Phenomenal!!!!!

Offense
  • Steve Smith makes a huge catch on 4th down to extend the drive.
  • The Ravens get into field goal range and set up for the game winner.
  • Justin Tucker nails a 54 yarder with ease!!!!

Ravens 19 Bills 17

Defense
  • The Jags are desperate and the Ravens shut them down at every turn. 
  • Suggs gets a big sack to force 3rd and long
  • Orr gets a game sealing pick to give the Ravens the win and they move to 3-0 on the season for the first time since 2009.

Final Thoughts

The Ravens are 3-0 for the first time in a long time which is no small feat in the NFL, especially with two of those wins coming on the road. It was far from pretty but there were some positives that can be taken from this game in Jacksonville. First obvious positive was how well the Ravens defense held up against Blake Bortles and the high powered passing game of the Jags. Especially early, the Ravens defense was able to force a number of punts and keep the Jaguars out of scoring range. Of course, as any good offense will, they eventually found some success, but the Ravens were able to to hold them to 17 points, in Jacksonville. that's no small feat in my opinion.

As far as the offense goes, they still are searching for a breakout performer at running back, and they have come up empty so far. Forsett is justifying why they cut him and resigned him for less money. And West is only a little better. This leaves so much pressure on Joe Flacco and the passing game. There were some great moments on Sunday for the passing game, and there were some bone headed mistakes made by Flacco that make you shake your head. They have to get more balance and more production consistently. Health has held up so far, which is refreshing.

The stars of the game were the special teams unit. Well aside for Devin Hester who muffed a punt that sparked the Jags comeback. Justin Tucker was sensational and is our MVP so far. But hats off to that field goal defense for blocking another kick and at the best time possible. We owe this win to the 3rd team, as without them, this would have ended differently.

Honestly, I was so pissed off by the horrific 1st quarter start by the Baltimore Ravens, that I couldn't even write down any meaningful play by play or notes from the game. All you really need to know is this.

  • 1st Quarter - Ravens look like shit
  • 1st Quarter - Browns look like the Patriots
  • 2nd Quarter -  Ravens still look bad but inching back into the game.
  • 3rd Quarter -  Ravens look like a poised football team.
  • 4th Quarter -  Ravens get the job done on the road
  • Final: Browns are the Browns!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
​Final Summary

After two games of the 2016 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens now sit 2-0, tied for the division lead with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In many ways, that's all that really matters at this point. Yes, the team got off to horrible start on the road in Cleveland, yes, the defense looked bad against back up QB Josh McCown, and yes, the offense continues to come out the locker room looking ill prepared to dominate and put teams away.

But at the end of the day, the Ravens scored 25 unanswered points and defeated a division rival, ob the road. Plus they came out of the game with no major injuries to key players, which is always a cause to celebrate. The road will get a lot tougher they will need to improve if they want to go far.

Week 2: Ravens vs Browns Preview

This Sunday at 1pm, the Baltimore Ravens travel to Cleveland to battle the Browns, for the first of two games between the teams this season. When it comes to division match ups, the teams play each other so often and are so familiar with the opponent, that really anything can happen. The history between these two teams is well documented, and overall the Ravens dominated the match-up. But just last season, with Josh McCown at the helm, the Browns came into Baltimore and defeated the Ravens 33-30 in overtime. It was an embarrassing lost, and one of the seasons low moments.

Well, with the injury to RG3, McCown is back as the starter this Sunday and he will look to pass all over that Ravens secondary once again. He is 2-1 against the Ravens overall, and John Harbaugh stated that they are not taking him lightly, as he's has the burned the Ravens repeatedly.

The Ravens are heavily favored to win this match-up o Sunday, but this is not a game to take lightly. Check this week's preview video...

1st Quarter

Offense
  • Joe is getting everyone involved early, good play selection by Tresman.
  • Opening drive stalled, as West can’t stretch out for first down on fake fullback toss play. Play worked earlier in the drive, but they went back to it too soon and Jerry Hughes wasn’t fooled.
Defense
  • Zach Orr laying lumber on first down.
  • What a great opening defensive series led by of all people Sherese Wright with to great tackles on the edge. Wow. Give Eric Weddle credit for quarterbacking that defense to a tee.
Offense
  • Joe making an effort to get Steve Smith involved. Great to see him back.
  • Penalties stall the offense with two pre snap penalties. This has to be cleaned up.
  • Zutah snaps the ball early and the Ravens turn it over with a fumble. Terrible.
Defense
  • Great job by the defense forcing a quick 3 & out and getting the ball right back.
Offense
  • Joe goes deep down the sideline to Perriman, who makes a great play on the ball. Great look man and hopefully the first of many.
  • Joe uses his feet and throws a rocket to Aiken who makes an excellent catch down the sideline. Man, when these guys gel, this receiving core could be special.
  • After the drive stalls, Tucker scores the first 3 points of the season for the Ravens. 50 yards.

2nd Quarter

Defense
  • Ravens defense clamps down and gets after Tyrod Taylor. Timmy Jernigan gets a huge sack on 3rd down and the Ravens force another punt. They look sharp.
Offense
  • So far, Forsett looks like the best running back on the team.
  • Pre snap penalties continue to hurt the Ravens. Yanda already with two pre snap errors in the game. Very uncharacteristic.
  • JOE FLACCO GOES DEEP TO MIKE WALLACE FOR A 66 YARD TOUCHDOWN!!
  • Flacco put that ball perfectly on him and Wallace turn on the burners. Exactly what we expected when Wallace was signed. A great sign.

Defense
  • Shady McCoy starting to break some plays open on the left side of the Ravens defense.
  • Tyrod getting into a rhythm. Pass rush of the Ravens not getting home.
  • Left side continues to be dissected by Shady.
  • The Ravens defenders are not wrapping up!! Tyrod just pulled off a miracle by escaping the pass rush, spinning out and throwing a great pass down field.
  • The Bills score their first touchdown of the year on 4th and goal with a run by Shady McCoy.

Offense
  • Forsett looks good.
  • Steve Smith doesn’t have his burst back yet. It will take a few games.
  • 2 minute offense still needs work. Should go to 3 receiver sets earlier.
  • Ravens unable to score before halftime.

3rd Quarter

Defense
  • Defensive pass rush is struggling. Suggs looks slow and clearly not back yet.
  • Huge run stop on 3rd down. Great defensive call to send the fire blitz.
  • Ravens unable to stop Tyrod from scrambling for the 1st down on 4th down.
  • Give Author McClellan credit. He’s flying to the ball.
  • Dan Carpenter misses a 49 yard fg. Huge break for the Ravens.
Offense
  • Bills brought the blitz and Joe throws what would have been a pick 6, but the defender dropped it. That was a bad communication between Joe and Steve Smith.
  • Offense looks bad and its 3 & out.
Defense
  • Drive ends with another great tackle by Sherese Wright. Im not a fan of his pass coverage but he has been shutting down the run and tackling great in this game.
Offense
  • Offense looks stagnant but the offense gets bailed out due to a dumb facemask penalty
  • Then another penalty advances the Ravens as Jerry Hughes roughs Joe Flacco.
  • Why throw a Wide out screen to Aiken?
  • Terrible playcall on 4th down and the Ravens turn the ball over
  • Jerry Hughes may have held Terrance West on that 4th down play.

4th Quarter

Defense
  • Ravens defense has been impressive with their activity to the ball carriers.
  • Wright almost had a huge interception, and the defense forces a punt.
Offense
  • Bad 3 & out by the Ravens offense, capped off by a sack on Flacco. Give the Bills credit and their coaching staff. The zone Blitz is working to perfection.
Defense
  • They can not wrap up Tyrod Taylor. He escaped again from what should have been another sack.
  • Ravens force a punt but they can not tackle this guy.
Offense
  • Joe has completed a pass to 10 different receivers so far.
  • Joe completes a great pass down the middle to Pita. Welcome back!!!!
  • Craxy drive as Tucker kicks a field goal and a penalty gives the Ravens a fresh set of downs, and they still couldn’t score a touchdown. So they ended up kicking another one.

Defense
  • The defense finally gets to Tyrod Taylor and they looked angry!!
Offense
  • Huge drive that if done correctly could put this game away.
  • Terrance West picks up a huge first down after Forsett put on a great performance the play before. This should ice this win away.

Final Summary

Game one of the 2016 season for the Ravens is in the books and there are several positives to acknowledge. First of all they got the win. Wins in this league are not easy and you appreciate them because as we saw last year, no matter how close the score is, when you lose, it’s a lost. No cookies for playing well and losing.

The 2nd was the play of the defense. Any time you can hold an NFL offense to one touchdown which came on 4th down I must add, you had a great afternoon. Great job by all 3 levels not giving up huge backbreaking plays.
​They were hitting too.

The team left the field today with no major injuries which is a blessing that should not be taken for granted. Joe Flacco, Steve Smith and Terrell Suggs all made their return from major season ending injuries and they looked like they are getting there. Not 100% yet, but this game knocked off some rust and helped build their confidence.

Great connection between Flacco and Mike Wallace. I have a feeling there is a lot more where that came from. The offense faced a very aggressive defense today and wasn’t as explosive as we would have liked to see, but its week 1. They will continue to gel and get better. A win is never a bad thing and there is room for growth.

Week 1: Ravens vs Bills Preview

​The first game of a new season always brings hope and excitement to the fan base. This is even more true when it comes to the 2016 Baltimore Ravens team. The entire 2015 season was like a bad dream, a nightmare one might say, littered with injuries, disappointments and overall the worst season of the John Harbaugh era. 

Well, this year, fans are hoping that the team can field a healthy squad that is ready to compete at a high level and go deep into the playoffs. It won't be easy facing Rex Ryan and the Bills on Sunday in the Ravens first true test. Joe Flacco, Steve Smith, and Terrell Suggs are all returning from significant injury and it will be very important that all three of these leaders play at a high level. The key will be the Ravens defense, like it always is. For more, watch the video.
